True Italian Pizza Week

True Italian Pizza Week is celebrating its tenth edition this year, and for the first time, the event will take place simultaneously in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. From October 15 to 25, 2026, participating pizzerias in all three cities will follow the same format: each venue creates two signature pizzas specifically for the event. Guests choose one of the two and pair it with an Aperol Spritz or a non-alcoholic Crodino Spritz for a total of €18. No tickets or advance registration are required.

Nearly 90 Pizzerias Participating

According to organizers, almost 90 pizzerias have signed up so far: 45 in Berlin, 22 in Munich and 22 in Hamburg. Additional registrations are still possible.

In Berlin, participants include Malafemmena, Prometeo, Lovebirds, Spaccanapoli Nr. 12 and Capvin. In Munich, venues such as BONO, Capri Restaurant, Punto Gola and Grazia Pizza Napoletana have joined. For Munich, this marks a return: the last Pizza Week in the Bavarian capital took place in 2023. In Hamburg, confirmed participants include Tazzi, Pizza Puro, Farina di Nonna and Pizzamacher.

A Decade of Growth

The first True Italian Pizza Week was held in Berlin in 2017 with 23 pizzerias. Since then, the project has expanded significantly. In 2025, 41 pizzerias in Berlin alone sold more than 6,000 Pizza Week menus. In Hamburg, 28 pizzerias participated that same year, selling around 1,000 menus. In 2023, beyond 36 pizzerias in Berlin, another 256 venues across other German cities took part.

The tenth edition now represents a new chapter: one event, running at the same time with the same format, in three major German cities.

Pricing in Context

According to organizers, dining out in major German cities has become noticeably more expensive in recent years. A spritz now often costs between €7 and €9, while a contemporary pizza made with carefully selected ingredients can easily cost €15 or more. The Pizza Week offer is designed to make the experience more accessible without being positioned as a “low-cost” promotion. The goal, organizers say, is to encourage guests to discover pizzerias, pizzaioli and recipes they might not otherwise have tried, thanks to a fixed price available at all participating venues.

Recipes and Partners

Each participating venue presents two different recipes. With nearly 90 pizzerias involved, that amounts to almost 180 pizzas created specifically for the eleven-day event. Organizers impose no recipe requirements; each pizzaiolo is free to interpret their own idea of pizza through different doughs, ingredients and techniques.

Event partners include Aperol, Crodino, Bimi® Broccoli and Le 5 Stagioni. Several pizzerias will incorporate Bimi® Broccoli into their recipes, while Le 5 Stagioni will supply professional flours to many of the participating venues.

Under the Patronage of Naples

True Italian Pizza Week 2026 once again takes place under the patronage of the City of Naples, a city synonymous with pizza culture worldwide. The event is organized by Berlin Italian Communication as part of the True Italian project, which aims to promote and showcase Italian food culture in Germany.

Press Event

To kick off this year’s event, a press conference will be held on Monday, October 12, starting at 6 pm at the new Polin pizzeria in Berlin-Steglitz. Representatives from Berlin’s restaurant scene will provide insight into the event, the participating pizzerias and the city’s current pizza landscape. Registration by email is requested.
