Hotel and Transportation

The last 10 years we went to the Palace. I guess we might have stayed one year or even more altogether. The Hotel Palace is in the Europa Center next to the memorial church. It is an affordable, charming 5-Star Hotel in a top location. We booked normally Clubrooms with Lounge Access. For our teenage son we booked a separate room as it is not appealing to share a room with a teenage boy. The Hotel was always nice with the rate for him.

When the Palace was full (Messe – exhibitions or conventions) we booked three times the SANA. It is a 4-star Hotel. It is Portuguese owned and a bit rundown, but mostly very friendly people. We can not blame the Portuguese, the technical director is a Berliner with the typical local charme: “Haben ‘se extra fürs Schwimmbad bezahlt? Ne? Also!” (Do you pay extra for the pool? No? So what do you want?!)
On the other hand you have people like Miss Wong who knows after the first day how you like your coffee and is a perfect host. Thank you again, Mrs. Wong!
We like it because they have a two bed room apartment (59 sqm) with two baths. We look for a rate with breakfast included as it is so much cheaper than breakfast extra. Prices on the Hotel page seems to be only the best when you come via a portal site like hotelscombined.

Once – after we were upset for something in Hotel Palace – we booked famous Adlon. It is supposed to be Germanys best Hotel. It was pricy. Breakfast was truly amazing in choice, quality and service. Outside guests pay 59 € for it. Our room had spots on the carpet. Also public areas were not in perfect condition. Staff was partly not friendly. After this experience we never left the Hotel Palace again!
