Berlin restaurateur Josef Laggner is taking over the insolvent establishment, securing the future of a corner pub that has been part of the neighborhood for over a century. The name will be retained while the concept undergoes revision.
Lutter & Wegner is a Berlin Institution Between History and Commerce. Lutter & Wegner at Gendarmenmarkt is marking its 215th anniversary. The venue’s history is closely tied to Berlin’s cultural development, though today it operates as a commercial enterprise in one of the city’s most frequented tourist areas.
