Looking for a good place near Potsdamer Platz we found the Josef Roth Diele and their Käsespätzle. (Cheese Noodles)
We were curious and visited the Bleibergs, a kosher-vegetarian restaurant and coffee shop run by very friendly Russians. Doesn’t that sound so New Yorkerish?
You get those pastries at any Bäckerei (Bakery) for low prices. Mostly it is hand made by the baker. Quality varies.
We were in Dahlem, Berlins best residential area with a lot of Ambassadors residences, next to FU (Freie University) to eat at Miss Wu, advertised as a modern Chinese Restaurant.
Ali Baba is a very old place and the only one that survived from my youth with 1 Mark Pizza. It wa svery popular to a piece of Pizza for one Mark. Now it is 1.5 €, still a good deal. Nothing changed in Ali Baba the last 40 years.
Opposite of the Hotel Palace is the Bikini House, an alternative mall. They also have a food court where you can get everything what is fashionable. More for restaurant prices than food court prices. We looked around but all the dishes looked little professional. Very trendy, but no Handwerk (technical knowledge). We decided for Ramen.
