Open Opera: The Rhine gold under the open sky: On Friday, June 12th, Deutsche Oper Berlin would have celebrated the premiere of DAS RHEINGOLD and thus the start of the new RING directed by Stefan Herheim. Deutsche Oper Berlin is very pleased to be able to present a smaller open-air version of the evening before the tetralogy:
On June 12 at 7:30 pm Deutsche Oper Berlin will present OPEN OPERA: THE RHEINGOLD ON THE PARKINGDECK, a semi-staged, 90-minute version of Wagner’s work in the chamber music orchestration of British composer Jonathan Dove.
Under the musical direction of General Music Director Donald Runnicles and the direction of Neil Barry Moss, 22 musicians* and 12 singers* work out an effective dramatic condensation – and prepare a very special summer opera experience for you and all of us.
Further performances will take place on 18, 19, 20 and 21 June on the parking deck of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
