The Senate has decided on further relaxation during a meeting. Starting May 15th, a complete reopening of the gastronomy is planned – but under strict hygiene and distance rules, reports the daily “Tagesspiegel”.
In addition, hotels are to be able to resume operations as of 25 May.
The Berlin Senate has also relaxed the ban on contact because of the Corona pandemic, but distance rules remain. From now on, it will be permitted to meet not only members of one’s own household, but also members of a second household in public places or, starting next week, in restaurants, said head of government Michael Müller (SPD) on Wednesday.
However, some conditions apply for the restaurants. The permitted opening hours range from 6 to 22 h, self-service or buffets are NOT ALLOWED. Visiting the restaurant is permitted with members of your own household and/or persons from ONE other household.
Guests should provide contact details and the hosts should keep these for four weeks so that possible chains of infection can be traced.
The Senate recommends that waiters wear face/mouth masks. In addition, the same distance rules apply as elsewhere in public. Smoking bars and shisha bars must remain closed.
On May 9, cosmetics and tattoo studios may reopen, said Economic Senator Ramona Pop. The same rules apply to cosmetic and tattoo studios as to hairdressers – they must wear masks. Visitors must also wear masks. Solariums or massage studios will be allowed to open again.
From 15 May, sport will again be possible in private (Fitnessstudio) and public (e.V.) clubs, but with up to eight participants including a coach.
Competitive sports in non-contact sports such as tennis and athletics will also be allowed again. The professional teams will also be able to train again.
From 25 May onwards, beach and open-air swimming pools can reopen under tough conditions.
