Toy manufacturer Mattel plans to open an entertainment center called “Mission Play” at Potsdamer Platz next spring.
Mission Play will be the first of its kind in Europe and will occupy more than 4,000 m² in the “Potsdamer Platz Arkaden,” according to landlord Brookfield Properties. The location will be operated by Planet Leisure Germany, it said. Brookfield and partner ECE Marketplaces see the opening of Mattel as “an important milestone in the redevelopment of Potsdamer Platz.” Shopping centers would increasingly develop into shopping, leisure and entertainment venues. Last year, Brookfield had started the redevelopment of the “Potsdamer Platz Arkaden”, which will offer around 90 retail stores and flagship stores in the future, including in the areas of gastronomy, sports and entertainment as well as mobility and leisure.
