Few delicacies stand out for their intensity of flavor like truffles: their scent alone makes them unmistakable and divides opinions – either you love them or you can’t stand them. At True Italian, we belong to the first group and celebrate this delicate specialty in all its forms – from savory to sweet, even as chocolate truffles.
That’s why we invite you to the Truffle & Truffle Festival – an event entirely dedicated to these gourmet delicacies: On January 24th and 25th, Festsaal Kreuzberg will open its doors and invite you to dive into a world of taste and aroma. For all lovers of fine culinary delights: don’t miss this festival!
Entry costs €5, while children and teenagers under 16 years old get in for free.
The Event
Join us on a culinary journey through different countries: The Truffle & Truffle Festival brings international delicacies to the table: new and traditional taste experiences and creative combinations, all inspired by truffles. The stalls come from Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea, China, Russia, and Germany. Here you’ll find everything – from classic truffle dishes to exclusive creations that can only be found at the festival. Additionally, there will be a small market offering a wide range of truffle-based products: truffle creams, truffle oils, various truffle snacks, and even truffle popcorn.
And it gets even better: this year, you can look forward to show cooking and recipe demonstrations by some of the exhibitors, who will showcase their best truffle recipes live.
Don’t miss these delights …
Indulge in a cheesecake with pears and truffled honey, enjoy crispy spaghetti meatballs à la Cacio e Pepe with truffles, or try Chinese chicken skewers in black truffle sauce. For a sweet ending, there are mochis with milk chocolate filling, fresh cream, and truffle oil. Naturally, there will be a wide selection of pizza and pasta dishes, all enhanced with the unique flavor of truffles.
Luxury or not – truffles are more popular than ever!
The truffle is making a comeback: Currently, 60 tons of truffles are marketed in Germany every year – roughly the weight of ten elephants! Its intense umami profile elevates even simple dishes to a new level of flavor. Truffles are also considered one of the most “politically correct” luxury foods: they can be served vegan or vegetarian and require no animal farming – making them particularly appealing to environmentally conscious gourmets. No other luxury product has gained as much popularity in the last 10 to 15 years, becoming accessible to a wider audience.
