Estonia meets Berlin

In a unique live performance, Estonia’s star conductor Kristjan Järvi will conduct the legendary soundtrack of Babylon Berlin live, accompanied by the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra. The concerts will take place at the Theater des Westens in Berlin from September 11 to 13, 2023.

Under the musical direction of Kristjan Järvi, the Baltic Sea Philharmonic presents a groundbreaking live staging of the distinctive Babylon Berlin soundtrack. The spectacular concerts will take place at the Theater des Westens (Kantstraße 12, 10623 Berlin) from September 11-13, 2023.

The upcoming concerts promise a rousing journey through time with extraordinary guest appearances by artists such as Meret Becker, Max Raabe, Natalia Mateo, Madame Le Pustra, Eckart Runge & Jacques Ammon as well as Cristina Russo and other guests. Kristjan Järvi, the internationally acclaimed conductor, producer, composer and arranger from Estonia, will impressively bring the fascinating atmosphere of this era to life with his unique approach. His reputation as one of the most intelligent and innovative programmers on the classical music scene underscores his extraordinary artistic expertise.

Kristjan Järvi lives and breathes music, creates spaces without genre boundaries, and is known for his unique experiments in sound. As Honorary Consul of South Korea for Estonia, he is also an ambassador of culture and art. His impressive repertoire ranges from great classics such as Wagner and Tchaikovsky to contemporary works by Steve Reich and Radiohead. With his New York-based classical hip-hop jazz group “Absolute Ensemble” and Sunbeam’s own band ‘Nordic Pulse’, Kristjan Järvi has developed a sound all his own that redefines the boundaries of music.

At the end of 2020, Kristjan founded a new record label: ‘nEscapes’. In addition to online music distribution, it offers artists its own unique “nEscapes Lounges” as a new listening format. With his team of “Sunbeam Productions” he creates a new paradigm for multi-sensory performance experiences and takes expression to the next level.

Kristjan Järvi not only collaborates on his own productions, but also internationally with outstanding artists such as director Tom Tykwer (for the soundtrack of Babylon Berlin) as well as artists such as MUM, Bryce Dessner (The National), Hauschka, Robot Koch and Max Richter. He is also currently starring in the compelling documentary “Bastille Re-Orchestrated” on Amazon Prime.
