Winter flight schedule comes into effect on October 29

For a city break to Dubai, Christmas shopping in London or cross-country skiing in Norway: From October 29, the winter flight schedule will come into effect with the changeover from summer to winter time. By March 30, 2024, travelers can choose from 130 destinations in 52 countries offered by 66 airlines from Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The most popular destinations include the major European cities of Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, Vienna and London. The most popular countries include Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Turkey and France.
As a long-haul service, Norse Altantic Airways will fly from BER to Miami from December 15. The new direct connection to the U.S. will be flown by the Norwegian airline once a week with a Dreamliner from Boeing. As early as October 30, Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will connect the capital region with Dubai in the United Arab Emirates four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
On medium-haul routes, the 2023/2024 winter flight schedule offers numerous sunny destinations. EasyJet will fly from BER to the Egyptian capital Cairo for the first time from December 17, 2023. The route between BER and Cairo’s Sphinx International Airport will be flown non-stop twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, using a modern Airbus A320. In addition to Cairo, easyJet is offering three other destinations in Egypt this winter. The popular Red Sea resort of Hurghada will be served twice a week from September 26, 2023. There will be up to three flights a week to Marsa Alam from October 12, 2023. Sharm El Sheikh will be served twice a week by easyJet from November 1. Air Cairo will also fly to the Egyptian resort once a week for the first time.
The winter flight schedule also offers numerous options for travelers who want to experience winter on vacation. For the first time, two airlines are flying from BER to Tromsø. The Norwegian city will be served by Eurowings from December 10 and by Norwegian twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from January 18, 2024.
In addition to the new destinations Dubai and Tromsø, Eurowings will also offer Rovaniemi in Finland for the first time. From January 13, 2024, the capital of Lapland will be served twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Eurowings is also expanding its flight offerings between BER and Innsbruck. From December 23 to March 9, 2024 inclusive, the route will be flown twice a week with an Airbus A320. The direct connection will then be on the flight schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Also on October 12, Volotea will launch new flights to Lyon. The French metropolis will be on the Spanish airline’s schedule twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. Lyon is the airline’s second new destination, alongside Verona in northern Italy, which will begin operations at BER at the end of May 2023.
Traditionally, the offer for the Canary Islands becomes larger in the winter season. Destinations such as Lanzarote and La Palma then return to BER.

But: United Airlines will discontinue its Washington DC route. Delta Air Lines will no longer fly from New York to Berlin.
