Strike! No departures for passengers from BER on February 1st

Due to the warning strike announced by the trade union ver.di for aviation security staff at several commercial airports, no departures will be possible at Berlin Brandenburg Airport next Thursday, February 1, 2024. The airport company officially informed its partners such as the airlines, ground handling service providers, security companies and local businesses of this in the evening. Affected passengers are asked to contact their airline for information on rebooking and alternative travel options.

Arrivals may also be affected. This will be decided by the respective airline.
Originally, around 170 take-offs and landings with almost 50,000 passengers each were planned for the day.

Beside Berlin the following airports will be on strike too: Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover, Köln, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart.
