British traditions with host Barbara Hanimann
Afternoon Tea at the Regent Berlin
The afternoon “Tea & Lobby Lounge” at the Regent Berlin is no longer an insider’s tip – the few seats in the cozy atmosphere are occupied accordingly quickly – even in summer. The pleasant coolness in the lobby of the luxury hotel is just as attractive as the crackling fireplace in winter. What remains constant is the excellent quality of the selected teas from the traditional Ronnefeldt tea house in Frankfurt am Main, which are served in Meissen porcelain.
Despite the elegant ambience, this afternoon tea is very informal. Hostess Barbara Hanimann, who holds the title of “Ronnefeld TeaMaster® Gold”, makes sure of this. She completed her training at the renowned TeaAcademy last year with flying colors. Guests can learn all about cultivation, preparation and tea traditions from the Swiss native.
At least as popular are the scones from the in-house patisserie, the hearty hors d’oeuvres, the fine sandwiches and the other specialties created by the kitchen team to uphold British customs in Berlin. During the Christmas season, seasonal highlights will complement the delicacies. Time out in the Lobby Lounge is a gift in any case – at 30 degrees in the shade, in the wet and cold fall and in a few weeks next to the Christmas tree.
The “Tea & Lobby Lounge” at the Regent Berlin is open Thursdays to Sundays between 2 and 6 pm.
