Now I wanted to do something good for my family and ordered sushi from the highly acclaimed Steffen Henssler, who recently opened branches in the Rocco Forte Hotels in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.
Berlin is still by far the leading gourmet metropolis in Germany with 25 Michelin star restaurants.
This year Berlin could even gain one star.

Pizza is everywhere, good pizza is very hard to find in Berlin. A reader drew our attention to “Sironi” at Goltzstrasse 36. They deliver in Schöneberg, but Charlottenburger have to pick up the pizza during the lockdown.

Actually we wanted to go to the “Restaurant Bass“, but there everything was booked out. So we walked down the Xantener Strasse to the Brandenburgische. At this corner is the Xantener Eck for over 100 years. Friends once talked about it quite positively. From the outside it looks like a bad tourist trap. Inside it looks old and cosy. Old style German.
You can also go there with your parents-in-law 😉
The menu is typically German with Austrian accents, but they do have also a good steak selelction.

I saw in a media release by Fork Reservation System, that they offer their restaurants with a 50 % discount. I thought it is some bait’n hook scheme, but no, we went to Restaurant Bass and had unconditional on EVERYTHING 50 % discount. Unbelievable.
